Sport
We offer a very extensive Sports program that gives our students the opportunities to become involved in a wide range of experiences. Some of these include:
School Level
All students participate in competitions involving 4 Houses – Kambara (Green), Taltarni (Red), Tanaranga (Gold) and Wandarra (Blue). Sports include swimming, athletics, cross country, football, netball, basketball and tennis.
Mid West Complex
Beaufort Secondary College competes against other like rural schools as part of the Mid West Complex of schools. Lake Bolac, Hawkesdale, Mortlake and Derrinallum are the other four schools who compete in sports such as swimming, athletics, cross country, triathlon, netball and football.
Ballarat Secondary Schools Sports Association (BSSSSA)
We also participate against schools in the Ballarat district in sports including swimming, athletics, football, netball, basketball, volleyball, soccer and badminton.
Western Zone and State Level
Many students in the past have represented the school at the highest levels of competition in various sports. Beaufort Secondary College has produced some excellent sports stars over the years including Shane O’Bree, Juanita Liston, Janet Sturgeon, Natalie Anderson, Michael Broadbent, Nick Franc and Mark Hanns.
