Programs â Camps
Beaufort Secondary College provides experience in camps and excursions, including overnight camps, for students at all year levels from 7 to 12. Such experiences are organized to include experiences that are:
- Educational
- Designed to aid social development
- Able to provide knowledge and appreciation for local areas of commercial,
environmental and recreational value, and
- Reasonable in terms of costs to individual students and their parents.
The Camp Program includes the following:
- Year 7 Roses Gap - field excursion, base camp and social development with education
experiences from Year 7 subjects, conducted in Term 1.
- Year 8 Lorne â Coastal environment. Base camp and social development with
educational experiences from Year 8 subjects, conducted in Term 4.
- Year 9 Adventure Camp for as many students as possible using either of the
DE&Tâs Rubicon or Bogong camps. The remaining students should follow a set of
daily local educational and environmental awareness excursions.
(Conducted in Term 2 or 3 preferably).
- Year 10 - Urban Awareness experience set in Melbourne (Term 3 or 4).
- Year 11 - A subject-based, school week length experience is encouraged. For example
Biology and Geography have in past years conducted Queenscliffe excursions.
- Year 12 - Annual MWC student study camp and staff professional development
program at the University of Ballarat early in Term 1.
- Other subject based camps/excursions, one day or overnight, school days or weekends or vacation are
also a part of our overall program.
